The Best Steakhouses In Toronto

Jacobs & Co. Steakhouse

Recently named one of the world's best steakhouses, this tony King West restaurant trades in high-end cuts sourced from around the world. Here, moneyed guests swirl glasses of Petrus as A5 Kobe steaks sizzle on the grill. For the rest of us? Tableside Caesars, dry-aged striploins and classic sides ensure everyone has a good time.

Barberian's Steakhouse

When this venerable Yonge and Dundas restaurant opened, the CN Tower had yet to be built, the Leafs remembered what it felt like to hoist the Stanley Cup and a decent cut of meat could be had for a dollar. Times have changed but this spot still delivers quality dishes in a room that feels plucked from another era. From the house pickles and garlic bread to the escargots and filet mignon, food here is an A-list of steakhouse faves.

The Keg Mansion

Whether it's the Gothic architecture, the thrill of dining on haunted grounds or the singular heritage space, every Keg favourite — from Caesars to striploins and slices of Billy Miner pie - tastes better here than at the chain's other locations.

Head to Church Wellesley Village if you long to bump into every one in an über-classy space.

Harry's Steak House

Neon lights, supple leather booths and a stamped metal ceiling are the perfect backdrop to a menu dominated by eye-wateringly expensive grilled meats at this Etobicoke restaurant. Settle in with chilled oysters and a loaded wedge salad before the meat masterpieces touch down.

The Butcher Chef

A substantial menu greets diners at this South Core restaurant, where steakhouse classics are given a bougie spin. Order "French-ish" onion soup, with foie gras and truffle; wagyu tartare, with frozen lemon and parm; and dry-aged carpaccio studded with spiced king crab. Then, sip on a dry martini as you mull over the dozens of steak options.

Hy's Steakhouse

Suits pile into this sprawling, three-storey Financial District restaurant to unwind over prime cuts of beef, the nostalgic comfort of cheese toast and cocktails mixed with a perfectionist's eye for detail. Tableside bananas foster is the dramatic end any meal here demands.

BlueBlood Steakhouse

Despite its Casa Loma location, this St. Clair West destination takes the staid steakhouse into seriously modern territory. Antlered chandeliers cast a glow on the room's collection of contemporary art while well-heeled diners tuck into all manner of high-end fare, from Alaskan crab fritters and short rib ravioli to 4-ounce morsels of wagyu filet.

The Shore Club

A relatively succinct list of grilled meats takes the stress out of ordering at this Financial District shrine to beef. What muddles the process? The crispy bistro shrimp, lobster bisque, fried chicken, and number of other dishes seducing from the sidelines.

STK Toronto

At this spot, Yorkville's showiest residents feed on shellfish platters, cow-girl rib eyes and the city's biggest-ticket tater tots in a space that easily matches their vibe. Top any cut - from an NY strip to an Australian flat iron - with signature wagyu umami butter for the ultimate in decadent dining.
